Welcome to AGAVF!

At its January 16th, 2009, meeting, our Board of Directors has accepted the candidacy of the Association des groupes en arts visuels francophones (AGAVF), who becomes the ninth member of our Conference. Active since 1998, AGAVF advocates for the interests of francophone groups and collectives, mostly artist-run centres, in linguistic minority situations. AGAVF will be represented on our Board by its Director, Lise Leblanc.

Although AGAVF’s objectives are very similar to ours, it is active in networks that are slightly different from ours, as it groups artist-run centres, collectives, professional associations and university galleries in various regions of Canada. AGAVF’s participation in our Conference will enable both of our organizations to pool these networks and each will benefit from an increased recognition. It is with joy that we are welcoming AGAVF!
